Another thing I just thought of is the test drive. Maybe there's a certain age you have to reach before you an drive a truck by yourself. I haven't been able to test drive a truck since I bought this one without the salesman coming along. How am I supposed to know if I like a truck with all that yapping about how great the transmission is and all the channels I get on the satellite radio? And how come the guy that appraises my truck is allowed to just take off in it? If the salesperson has to ride with me, shouldn't I get to ride with the appraiser?

I think its for insurance reasons that they do that now. I know it used to be they'd give you a plate and you'd bugger off with the truck on your own. But being the way things are these days they can't do that anymore hardly. I have a issue with dealers that block the lot off during closed hours so you can't even drive through.

I remember before my parents bought a Ford in 1995, the GM dealer in Swift would give us trucks for the day. We'd go in for a test drive, and the salesman would just tell us to bring it back before they closed. I guess he really wanted to sell a truck. We didn't buy from him, but I bought a car from him a few years later.

When i bought mine last september I told the dealer/salesman that i would not buy the truck until I drove it by myself. They were very reluctant to let me go but did let me. I went home hooked up the toyhauler and ripped out to Ainsworth. I wanted to see how it would hold the trailer and pull the hills. I went back to the dealer with the trailer on and said Sold.

Back in the good old days, my dad went in on a friday to the gm dealership infairview, he was allowed to take it home for the weekend! That was in 97 and he still drives it daily today. I think the problems with today is you can't trust anybody anymore.

Thanks! I still have it. It's paid off now so that makes it a lot easier to keep.

It'd be a lot cooler if it was black, though.

Finally pulled the trigger on Saturday. Traded off my Dodge on a 2010 GMC SLT crew cab. I wasn't really planning on it, I just went in to see when the 2011s were coming out (which I still don't know). But then we got talking about how the Denali package would push a diesel close to $80K, and they had a 2010 on the lot that was almost everything I was looking for, for $34K difference, and the next thing I knew I was leaving with a different truck.

I don't have any pictures, but imagine a completely stock black GMC crew cab, and that's what it looks like.

Thanks! I've only got 600km on it, but you're right, I'm not digging the mileage. The computer tells me I'm getting high 13/low 14L per 100km, but I doubt that. I'm going to do a few tanks by hand to verify that. I know that I definitely miss the 129L tank in the Dodge (or whatever size it was). I don't know what it is in this truck, but it's got to be small because it doesn't take long to drop.

Once I get that figured out, I will be calling you. Does anyone make a black dual exhaust? Or single, even? The only one I've seen is a single four inch from RBP. I'd like to go duals again, but I don't know if I want polished pipes. Gravel beat my old ones to hell.

We can do single, dual, SS, alum or black. I think you would be happy with the alum. (we have a smokin deal on single alum.kits right now) If the gravel beat the crap out of your old kit, then it wouldn't take too long for the black kit to look pretty bad also. You can also replace the entire kit or just do dpf back. The dpf back kits do not increase any performance or even change the sound. (dpf back should be done purely to change the look only)

I might go with just the cheapest aluminized and black tips. I don't know yet. I'm thinking that beat up black will look better than beat up stainless steel. But if the pipes are tucked up out of sight (like my brother's 08 Ford, and not like my 05 Dodge), it won't matter either way. Whatever I do will be a full exhaust. But before I do anything, I need to prepare myself for the cost of buying truck parts again. I have been buying parts for my quad lately, and they're way cheaper to mod. It's way easier to spend hundreds of dollars than thousands.
